Our Mission
Discovery and Learning
Here at Little Thinkers, we support young children in their journey of Mandarin Chinese learning through the teaching of Zhuyin phonetic system, which is the primary language curriculum adopted in Taiwan for kindergarteners and primary school children. Because storybooks and literature are often written with the characters paired with the phonetic notations on the side, children familiar with Zhuyin phonetic notations will be able to pronounce the characters in the books before actually learning to read and write Chinese characters.
We focus on building the phonetic foundation for our young readers in order to offer children an efficient way to read and enjoy the materials. Possessing literacy in Zhuyin will allow children to engage in the Mandarin language and culture, and become more inclined to read independently. Zhuyin also helps learners to speak with proper pronunciation and tonality. Our goal is to help children speak in a sophisticated accent while reading Mandarin without character recognition being the primary hurdle.
